Charles R. Stevens, age 84, of Corbin, passed away on Monday, May 6, 2013. He was a retired switchman for CSX Railroad and proudly served our country in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Lois Jean Wells Stevens; a special canine companion, Jack; two daughters, Tracy Swartz and husband Terry of London, and Terry Hooks and husband Eddie of Heiskell, Tennessee; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Stevens and wife Trudy of Corbin; two sisters, Thelma Dirr and husband Terry of Corbin, and Marie Garland of Cincinnati, Ohio; nieces, nephews, and other family members who mourn his passing.
Visitation will be from 12 Noon on Thursday, May 9, until the time of the funeral at 2pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Corinth Cemetery with gravide military honors by the American Legion Post 88.
